A national prayer was today, Tuesday organised on the plains of Arafah by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) for peace, tranquility, progress, development of the Nigerian nation and Allah’s guidance to her leadership at all levels of governance.
The prayer on the day of Arafah was led by the Committee of Ulama, in which the scholars prayed for Nigeria to overcome all its challenges.
The Ulama, during the prayer session also commended NAHCON leadership’s efforts in ensuring a hitch free, smooth and successful Hajj operation.
In his welcome address earlier, the Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan appreciated the Presidential support to Commission in executing its mandate and also thanked the Ulama for their support and understanding.
The Chairman also explained the tents and feeding challenges encountered in Muna and the measures taken to solve them, saying the authorities concerned have provided a ten thousand capacity tents for some of the stranded Nigerian pilgrims, and that by tomorrow distribution would be effected through the modules agreed with State pilgrim boards, agencies and commissions.
The National prayer was offered in five different Nigerian languages, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde, and Kanuri.
