The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has extended its sensitisation campaign for the 2027 Hajj exercise to the Niger South Senatorial District, urging intending pilgrims to make all official payments only through the Board’s designated bank accounts.
The latest sensitisation was held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, during a one-hour live phone-in programme on Radio Nigeria Power FM 100.5, Bida, as part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to provide prospective pilgrims with accurate information ahead of the pilgrimage.
Speaking during the programme, the Board’s Director of Administration, Alhaji Ado Bello, reiterated the warning against fraudsters, unauthorised intermediaries and the use of personal accounts for Hajj-related transactions.
He stressed that intending pilgrims should verify every payment instruction and other Hajj-related information through the Board’s official channels before taking action.
The Board’s designated accounts are Taj Bank – 0006436521 and Zenith Bank – 1015797161.
<span;>Bello also advised intending pilgrims to retain evidence of all payments for proper documentation and verification, while encouraging them to commence preparations early.
According to him, such preparations should include registration, passport processing, medical screening and participation in mandatory orientation and training programmes.
The Bida programme, conducted in English, Hausa and Nupe, covered registration procedures, documentation, payment processes, travel requirements, health guidelines and other key aspects of Hajj preparation.
Listeners also had the opportunity to call into the programme and seek clarification on the 2027 Hajj fare, registration and travel requirements, with officials of the Board responding to questions live on air.
The Board said the extension of its radio sensitisation campaign to Niger South was aimed at bringing credible and timely information closer to intending pilgrims and communities across the district.
It urged prospective pilgrims to rely only on verified communication channels and visit the Board’s headquarters in Minna or its Zonal Office in Bida whenever clarification is required.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and the welfare of Niger State pilgrims, assuring intending pilgrims that further information on the 2027 Hajj exercise would be communicated through official channels.
