Secretary to the Government if the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha has commended the 4th Board of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON ) led by Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan for the take off of the Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN ).
Mustapha gave the commendation on Tuesday in his speech at the formal opening of the Institute.
He assured that “The Federal Government is committed to supporting institutions like the HIN whose programs are in tune with the strategic objectives of this administration, and I am confident that the launch of this and subsequent certificate programs will provide a platform for the Institute to continue to grow and improve its offerings.”

It gives me great pleasure to attend events such as this because of its relevance to this administration’s focus under the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) which has a vision of sustained inclusive growth and structural economic transformation. Our emphasis is focused on improving both public and private sector efficiency, increased national productivity and maximum welfare for Nigerians.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you all to the Opening Ceremony of the Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN), an academic institution established by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to inject professionalism into the Nigerian Hajj and Umrah Sector and create skilled manpower and jobs for teeming Nigerian youth. This is a core goal of the ERGP of Job creation, youth empowerment and improved human capital. It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today, as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who oversees the Hajj Commission to celebrate this landmark occasion.
Today marks the launch of the first Professional Certificate program of the HIN, a program that is designed to enhance the capacity of Nigeria’s hajj officials, fill the skills gap in the economy and ensure the effective management of our annual pilgrimage to the holy land. This is a critical step towards ensuring that our hajj operations are at par with international best practices, and our pilgrims receive the highest quality of services during their journey.
The Federal Government is committed to supporting institutions like the HIN whose programs are in tune with the strategic objectives of this administration, and I am confident that the launch of this and subsequent certificate programs will provide a platform for the Institute to continue to grow and improve its offerings.
I would like to commend the Board and Management of the Commission for their dedication and hard work in establishing this Institute, especially for being the first cohort of students and for their tireless efforts to ensure that our hajj operations are of the highest standard. I am also grateful to our partners, both local and international, who have joined us today to celebrate this occasion and support the Institute.
As we move forward, I encourage the Institute to continue to seek innovative solutions and new ways of delivering the best services to our pilgrims through their academic programmes and research. I am confident that with the launch of this Professional Certificate program, and the ongoing efforts of the HIN, we will see continued progress and success in hajj operations.
