Bauchi state has commenced its Second round of sensitization and advocacy visits, planned to meet 6 Emirate Councils in the state, in order to further seek their intervention on 2023 hajj challengies.
The high powered team led by the Chairman of the Bauchi Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Nuru Adamu has kick started the visit with the Bauchi Emirate Council.
At the Bauchi Emir Palace Alh Nuru Adamu Jumba expressed worry on the low turn out of depositors for the upcoming Hajj excercise, reiterating that Saudi Arabia would not confromised with the 2024 hajj calendar of event.
He noted that the Hajj excercise came with alot of operational challenges such as high cost of Hajj Deposit and the duration for the depositors to make their deposits that need adequate publicity.
Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba seeks the support of His Royal Highness Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu to assist in ensuring the welfare of the intending pilgrims.
Also in his remark, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris lamented on the figure of the intending pilgrims so far made thier deposit.
According to him, out of the 3364 Hajj slots allocated to Bauchi State, presently, Bauchi Pilgrims Board was only able to register less than 550 intending hajj depositors.
Imam Abdurrahman added: “We have received a letter from National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON reiterating the 31st December,, 2023 as a closing date for the collection of this year Hajj deposit and 5th January as closing date expecting all State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards to remit their Hajj deposit payment to NAHCON”.
He therefore called on the Bauchi Emirate Councils and other Hajj stakeholders to help in the dissemination of the development saying all hands most be on deck to l protect the figure of the acquired Bauchi hajj slots for the forthcoming years Hajj.
Earlear, the Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu who was represented by the Wazirin Bauchi, Alh. Muhammad Uba Ahmed kari pledged to support advocacy to ensure intending pilgrims made their timely Hajj deposit payments.
Wazirin Bauchi added that the Emirate would direct all traditional leaders and the ulamas in their domain to sensitise and educate the intending pilgrims at the grassroot..
The team which was led by the Chairman of the Board Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba has members of the Board, Executive Secretary of the Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris and all Directors of the Board.
