The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Wednesday evening inspected the ten thousand capacity additional tents provided by the Company of Mutawwif for African Non Arab Pilgrims to cushion the painful effect of inadequate tents Nigerian pilgrims faced since arrival at the hilly and rocky site of Muna on Monday.
The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan who led a team of his management staff for the inspection and taking over said the measure will certainly mitigate the hardships, and hoped that the pilgrims concerned would cooperate in view of the fact that only two days stay in Muna remains.
The representatives of the Company pledged that enough vehicles would within the next two hours, be provided to evacuate the stranded pilgrims to the new Turkish arena.
The chairman expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the arena.
It is expected that pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and those of Kogi State, and or pilgrims from tour operators would be moved to the new site.
It could be recalled that since Monday the Commission has been battling to solve the twin problems of inadequate tents and feeding arrangement for pilgrims as the Mutawwif pledged to right all wrongs for the comfort of Nigerian pilgrims.
