The Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has expressed satisfaction with the services rendered by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, particularly in the areas of food and accommodation for pilgrims in Madina.
Vice Chairman of the committee, Senator Muhammad Ali Ndume, stated this position during interactive session with journalists after leading a delegation to inspect NAHCON’s services in Madina.
Accompanied by members Senator Adamu Alieru, Ahmad Malam Madori and Senator Sahabi Yau, among other members, Senator Ndume
inspected the Sokoto State Pilgrims’ House in Madina to assess the support being given to Nigerian pilgrims. He commended NAHCON for their efforts, especially highlighting the smooth and timely transportation of pilgrims.
While praising the overall performance, Umar Faruk Sulaiman, head of the Sokoto State Da’awah section, acknowledged NAHCON’s good work in providing quality food and comfortable accommodation. However, he raised concerns about families being separated during transportation upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, due to different visa handling companies.
The committee’s visit underscores their oversight and commitment to ensuring Nigerian pilgrims receive the best possible support during Hajj.
